Bishop Carswell Leonard
Bishop Leonard is a native of the Virgin Islands. He was converted at the age of fifteen and became a member of the Church of God of Prophecy He was called into the preaching ministry at the age of eighteen. He enjoys, sports, reading, writing and traveling.
He completed an Associate’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology from George Washington University and was involved in many of the cutting- edge technological advances in that field. He is a Cum Laude graduate of Columbia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He is a Cum Laude graduate of Webster University with a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree. In 2005 he completed the Masters of Divinity (MDiv) degree at the Shaw University Divinity School in Raleigh, North Carolina. He has been recognized for his academic accomplishments by being named among the Who’s Who among Students in American Universities and Colleges and he has been inducted into the Alphi Chi Honor Society. Bishop Leonard was selected to present an academic paper at the Society of Pentecostal Studies meeting in March of 2010
Bishop Leonard served as Assistant to the Pastor at the Monument of Faith Church of God of Prophecy in Durham, North Carolina for four years. In 2005 He was appointed to serve as Pastor of the River of Life Church of God of Prophecy in Siler City, North Carolina. He served as Pastor at the River of Life for five years. He presently serves as the Senior Pastor of the State Street Community Church in Raleigh, North Carolina. He also serves as the Leadership Development Coordinator for the Churches of God of Prophecy in North Carolina. He serves under international appointment as a member of the Biblical Doctrine and Polity Committee and the Tomlinson Center Advisory Board. He also serves as an adjunct instructor and on the Curriculum Development Committee for the Center for Biblical Leadership.
